Welcome to Hastings Hypnotherapy

I’m a hypnotherapist based in Hastings, East Sussex, offering online and in-person hypnotherapy. My Approach

My style is intuitive, compassionate, and collaborative, grounded in respect for your lived experience and identity.

I support adults from all backgrounds and identities, with a particular commitment to creating an affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients. Each session is tailored to you – your story, your pace, and your goals.

I value your time and energy, and my intention is that you leave each session feeling seen, heard and supported.

Sessions are available:

  • Online – from the comfort of your own space

  • In person – at The Wellington Health & Wellbeing Centre in Hastings

Both options are equally effective. We can talk together about what feels most accessible and comfortable for you.

As an accredited registered member of the National Hypnotherapy Society, I am bound to work within their code of ethics, further details can be read here.

My Commitment to Your Safety and Professional Standards:

I'm proud to be on an Accredited Register that has been officially recognised by the Professional Standards Authority. This important accreditation was established by the Government to help improve standards and safety for everyone seeking hypnotherapy. Being part of this register demonstrates my genuine commitment to maintaining high professional standards, enhancing safety protocols, and delivering a better service to you.

When you choose to work with me, you can have peace of mind knowing I'm committed to excellence in both my practice and your care, with your wellbeing always at the heart of everything I do. I undertake regular supervision and Continuing Professional Development as part of this ongoing commitment.

How Hypnotherapy Can Help

Hypnotherapy works by gently accessing the subconscious mind to shift self-limiting beliefs and unhelpful thought patterns. Using relaxation techniques and personalised positive suggestions, we create new subconscious pathways that support lasting change so you can move towards your goals.

Hypnosis is a natural and safe state. You remain in control throughout, and the process is collaborative and empowering. Many people describe it as feeling calm, focused and deeply relaxed.

Hypnotherapy can be especially helpful if you:

  • Want to feel more confident for exams, interviews or driving tests

  • Feel nervous about public speaking or being “seen”

  • Want to improve your sleep and reduce stress or anxiety

  • Would like to quieten your inner critic and feel more at ease in yourself

  • Are seeking calm, clarity or freedom from unwanted habits (such as nail biting)

Whatever you’re hoping for – more confidence, more peace, or simply feeling more like yourself – change begins with believing it’s possible and taking the first step.

There is paid on-street parking on Wellington Square, alternatively parking is available at:

The 15 minute discovery call we have at the beginning is free of charge.

  • As hypnotherapy is a relatively short-term therapy, on average the recommended number of sessions is between 4 - 6 for a specific issue.

  • This is a free 15 minute call to assess if and how I can support you with your issue and if we would like to work together. If we do decide to proceed, we will arrange the initial consultation meeting, which last for approximately 60 minutes.

  • As a proud member of the queer community here in Hastings, I offer a safe, inclusive and affirming  space.

  • Hypnosis is the state itself - a natural, relaxed state of heightened focus and suggestibility, like daydreaming. You remain fully aware and in control. Hypnotherapy is the therapy that uses hypnosis as a tool. It combines this relaxed state with therapeutic techniques to help you make positive changes for issues such as anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem,  habits, or stress.

The key difference: Hypnosis is the state, while hypnotherapy is the therapy that uses that state. Together, they work on both conscious and subconscious levels for deeper, more effective change.  In my practice, I use hypnotherapy to help you create lasting, positive changes in a supportive, collaborative way - you're always in control and empowered to achieve your goals.

  • Hypnotherapy may not be suitable for those within their first trimester of pregnancy,  with a severe mental health condition (such as Psychosis or Schizophrenia) or uncontrolled epilepsy; anyone currently under the influence of alcohol or other substances.   If you have concerns about your specific situation, please consult your GP first to find the approach that feels right and safe for you.

Client Testimonials

“I had hypnotherapy with Marisa to help calm my nerves ahead of my driving test, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. I’d failed multiple times before - not because I couldn’t drive, exactly, but because nerves got the better of me and I panicked during the test. Marisa’s approach was exactly what I needed.

Marisa helped me feel grounded and more confident. She was incredibly attentive to my fears and worries, and I felt completely at ease with her from the start. Her professionalism shone through in every aspect of our sessions, and her follow-up was just as thorough, creating personalised recordings for me to listen to prior to the test, which were both calming and empowering.

Marisa was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. Thanks to her, I was able to approach my test with a calm mindset and finally overcome the anxiety that had held me back.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Marisa to anyone looking for support through hypnotherapy. She’s truly exceptional.”
